Termez branch of Tashkent State Technical University was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated June 29, 2017 No PP-3101 "On measures to organize the activities of the Termez branch of Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov". Termez branch of Tashkent State Technical University was transformed into the Termez Institute of Engineering and Technology by the decree of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated December 30, 2021 Today, the institute operates in the buildings located at 284 and 288a Islam Karimov Street. The capacity of the buildings is 1640 people. At present, the institute has 2 faculties, 9 departments, which train bachelors in 21 fields of study, masters in 4 specialties. There are 2889 full-time students, 1342 part-time students, 65 master's students, a total of 4296 students. In the 2021/2022 academic year, quotas have been allocated for 6 new bachelor's degrees and 4 master's specialties on the basis of the state order, and the admission process has been carried out and training has been launched. The institute has 117 full-time professors and teachers. 20 of them are professors and teachers with academic degrees. Of these, 2 are doctors of sciences, professors, 18 are candidates of sciences, associate professors. The scientific potential is 17%. There are 2 technical schools, 1 academic lyceum, 1 landfill under the institute. There are 8 training laboratories for use in the educational process, including automotive, electric power, plumbing, food technology, physics, chemistry and biology, and a sewing workshop. The Information Resource Center (IRC) has a free internet service. There are also videoconferencing devices, which are used effectively in the educational process. There are 21 Wi-Fi zones in the academic buildings, kitchen and dormitory of the institute.
